Zumba pronounced (zoom bah) is
the new aerobic exercise craze that is sweeping the country. Zumba consists
of simple Latin dance steps put to a mixture of Latin and international
music. It has a combination of high and low impact dance steps that make up
the whole workout that is about an hour long class. In 2008, Zumba became
the biggest fitness trend with 3 million individuals participating in 35
countries around the world taking part in this hot, fun, and sexy new way to
tone the body.
Zumba is designed to give participants interval training; along with
strengthen the body while toning it. It offers some great benefits for the
body.
1. Fat burning workout: By getting your heart rate up, you
increase the body’s metabolism which will help in burning unwanted fat even
during your resting time.
2. It’s easy and fun: The dance routines are easy to learn,
and will not get boring. Because of the routine being fun you won’t be
looking for reasons to miss your exercise class. In fact it will be just the
opposite.
3. Sculpt the body: It could potentially reshape your body through
the sexy dance movement. Your abs and back, which is your core, will become
strong through the Zumba movements. Lower and upper body, along with your
mid section you will begin to see an increase in toning.
4. High level of ‘feel good’: By being able to do the sexy dance
steps, and through beginning to see a more sculptured body your ‘feel good’
level will increase. Your self-image was also increase, and you will be
having fun doing it.
5. Lowers stress: Your body begins to produce serotonin and dopamine
with every dance move to the Latin music, which will lower stress levels and
fill your body with peacefulness
